The Philbert family has been living in the village of Rilly-la-Montagne for several generations.
Every member worked in the vineyards, the first one being Victor PHILBERT (1861-1938), who besides got involved in the wine movement.
His son, Henri Philbert (1901-1982), succeeded him and started selling Champagne under the name of CHAMPAGNE PHILBERT & FILS.
Then Claude Philbert, Henri's son, (1931-1986) developed the Champagne estate and established its credibility.
Since 1992 then, the fourth generation has been perpetuating the family tradition with Jérôme, now assisted by his sister Frédérique, with a continuous focus on wine quality and customer respect.
Our vineyards extend over 9.40 hectares in the villages of Rilly-la-Montagne essentially, Villers-Allerand, Ludes and Taissy, all three classified as "Premier Cru" and being part of the renowned Mountain of Reims.
Each of the three Champagne grape varieties brings its own style to our wines: Pinot Noir gives body, Pinot Meunier fruitiness, Chardonnay fineness and elegance.
Our permanent concern is to offer a steady high quality, and as such every cuvée is elaborated with the greatest care in the full respect of Champagne traditions.
